Trip to the Souk
e can take you to a traditional Moroccan Souk (market) Experience how a typical family would shop every week.
We have a local market in Aourir on a Wednesday morning, with lots of fruit and veg traders selling all locally produced products as well as many clothes and carpet sellers. Local people come from the mountains to buy their produce for several weeks so you will see lots of overloaded cars and vans full of people and wares. In this souk you’ll experience all the bright colours and the hustle and bustle of a local market.
It is a great experience and all the traders are friendly and happy to haggle with you!
The large souk in Agadir is called Souk el Had and is held within the walled souk area near La place du taxi. This is the second largest souk in North Africa and is packed with anything you can think of. From gold and silver, leather goods, lamps and metal work to fish, fruit and veg it has the lot. There is so much to see here, more than you could even imagine!
This is where you can buy presents to take home with you but be prepared to haggle to get the best price – it is expected and welcomed.
