Bagus Surf & Yoga Camp and Jesse Barlow Yoga are excited to invite you to our 2019 spring yoga teacher training in Tamraght, Morocco. Come experience our comfortable  accommodations and enjoy our renowned Moroccan cuisine prepared fresh by your host, Mourad, while deepening your practice and working towards teacher certification with your experienced instructor, Jesse.

The 200hr Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Foundations course is designed to deepen your personal practice and give you the tools to design and guide a safe and well-rounded yoga class upon graduation. Through morning asana practices, posture clinics, engaging in discussion, debate, and discourses the aim is to go beyond the theoretical and to embody the multidimensional aspects of the full yoga experience.

Quality over quantity is the mantra for the month.  Providing a foundation to deepen your own practice and support integral and authentic teaching.

This course has been specifically designed to align with the standards set by The Yoga Alliance. Topics will include but are not limited to Yoga Asana, Pranayamic Breath Work, Meditation, Yogic Philosophy, Anatomy and The Ethics and Business of Yoga. After graduation, you will be teaching from a personal experience rather than a memorized script.

For a detailed outline of The Yoga Alliance 200HR standard please click the following link: https://www.yogaalliance.org/Credentialing/Standards/200-HourStandards

Upon successful completion of the course, students may register to become a member of the Yoga Alliance (Fee Payable to the Yoga Alliance).

Tamraght, in the South of Morocco is a berber village with a beautiful heart, where the locals live together with surfers from all over the world in a pacific rhythm with the Ocean.

We are at 5 minutes of the famous surfer center of Taghazout. As one of our guests mentioned: “… each evening  there is a special moment where the serenity of the ocean and the glowing sunset gives way to twilight, the sea begins to roar her melodious chant and one by one the stars begin to cover the sky. It’s truly magical”. All this happens to the sounds of remembrance of the Divine from the local mosque.

Jesse Barlow

Simplified; for me yoga is about being myself and observing and enjoying the richness and diversity the human experience has to offer. The catalyst for my own practice has changed many times over the years. In this moment having a balanced practice on and off my yoga mat, that is present in all layers of my daily life is the current focus of my yoga.
My “teaching style” is a syntheses of 10 years of studying and practicing in different lineages and with different teachers. My focus when designing and asana practice is that participants may experience; a harmony between the freedom of the breath and the alignment of the movement, a relaxation of the thought bringing inspiring compassionate action and to balance with the central nervous system aligning the parasympathetic and sympathetic branches.

I have over 10 years experience in tourism and surfing, and also a freelance photographer. Having managed surf companies before, I felt like something was missing – there was just no passion. So in 2015 I decided to go for it by myself and started Bagus Surf & Yoga Camp. Everything we do here comes from the heart. My home is your home and I welcome the travelers of the world to enjoy life the Bagus way.

Safir has worked with Mourad at Bagus for a couple of years, and is a huge part of the team. He loves seeing all the guests happy and enjoying themselves, and makes delicious food with Mourad every day. Safir is always around with a smile and makes everyone feel welcome and comfortable.
Jamila is a lovely berber women. Although she does not speak your language and she is a bit shy, she will always offer you her smile.
Bali is everyone’s favourite. A big bundle of fur and love, everyone who meets her falls in love with her. She’ll always welcome you and make sure you’re giving her plenty of attention!

Bagus Camp is a spacious 4-storey house, sleeping 16 people in total across 2 of the floors. We have two rooms that sleep 4 in each, two twin rooms and two double rooms. All the rooms are decorated in an authentic Moroccan style, furniture is designed for your comfort, and we provide towels for all our guests. There is a bathroom on each floor (4 toilets and showers in total) and free wifi in the camp.

Upstairs, we have a rooftop terrace – a great place to finish the day watching the stunning African sunset. Our small garden downstairs provides another outside space for everyone to relax in. We also have a downstairs kitchen where we cook our guests delicious meals. The entire house has a Moroccan influence and small touches that make your stay even more comfortable.

At Bagus, we want to make sure there is plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy their stay. That’s why two of our floors are dedicated spaces for you to sit and socialize away from your room.

“Doing my Yoga teacher training with Jesse was one of the best decisions I’ve ever taken in my life. A perfect combination of yoga postures, teaching & philosophy without ever being intrusive concerning what to believe in but open and supportive. I fully trusted his competency at all times and would love others to go trough the experience with him, an experience that didn’t stop at my yoga-mat but changed my life. ” -SN
